Public transport historian Gavin Booth has put together this collection of black & white photos of bus operators’ support vehicles.
The book is divided into chapters covering different types of support vehicle, starting with tramway service vehicles and followed by tram and trolleybus tower wagons, recovery vehicles, and buses used for driver training after withdrawal from regular service. Also featured are works lorries, mobile canteens, buses decorated for special occasions or advertising purposes, and buses converted for other purposes such as mobile libraries.
At the back there are three short case histories covering the service vehicle fleets in Birmingham, Edinburgh and Huddersfield.
128 pages. Over 200 black & white photos.
