This is the fifth encyclopaedia in a series on French motive power, this time covering all EMUs to have run on SNCF metals including those of SNCF’s forerunners starting with the Sprague Thomson units of early 1900s vintage and continuing until the present day.

Tram-trains and RER units that have run on the SNCF network are also included along with RAe TEE II trainsets, Belgian and Swiss EMUs used on cross-border services into France, and Luxembourg Railways Class 2000 and 2200 units based on existing SNCF EMU designs.

For each class of unit there is a short description, a table of technical information and drawings showing the units in each livery that they carried.

La Grande Encyclopédie des Locomotives Françaises 5: Les automotrices électriques forms part of this superb reference work on French motive power. French text. Large format hardback. 208 pages.
