The Class 52 is one of Germany's most famous locomotive types, with over 6,000 being bult for use all around the world. Following World War 2, 200 of the class were modernised for use by Deutsche Reichsbahn.
Many of these locomotives would remain in service until the end of steam in the DDR in the late 1980s.
This new addition to Eisenbahn Kurier's series of highly detailed locomotive histories examines the design, manufacture and operation life of the class. Around 400 archive black & white photographs and diagrams illustrate the story of one of the final steam locomotive classes to regularly operate in Germany. German text. Hardback. 288 pages.
