The Bluebell Railway is famed the world over for its historic collection of locomotives and rolling stock, and for the pioneering spirit of the early volunteers on the line. 2020 marks the 60th anniversary of the line’s landmark step into preservation.
Rather than a general history of the line, 60 Years of Bluebell Railway Locomotives considers the locomotive fleet of the railway, with a collection of high quality colour images taken all along the line. The book features the home locomotive fleet as well as notable visitors and includes images of former residents that have since departed. The book concludes with a short section looking at Bluebell-based locomotives at work on other heritage railways or on the main line.
The photographs are mostly presented in one-per-page format and all are captioned to provide further detail of the image. 60 Years of Bluebell Railway Locomotives takes the opportunity to look back over time to showcase the variety of locomotives to have graced Bluebell Railway metals in the preservation era. 96 pages.
