The Talyllyn Railway is unique in that it was the only narrow gauge railway anywhere in the world to have been designed and built as a steam-operated passenger line. It was also the first to have been taken over by enthusiasts and now carries far more passengers than it ever saw in the days before preservation.

As well as illustrating the steam locomotives and passenger trains that draw in the crowds, it also shows staff and volunteers at work behind-the-scenes, revealing another side to the railway.
