Here's One We Made Earlier: On 13 July, in a ceremony at London King's Cross, LNER Peppercorn Class A2 4-6-2 60532 "Blue Peter" was formally rededicated following a major overhaul costing £5 million. It then made its first passenger-carrying working on the national rail network in over 20 years, hauling a private charger over the East Coast Main Line to York. Ian Beardsley reports on the day's events.

The French Connection: The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway's 12-14 July diesel gala saw the return to service of 20228, which was one of four Class 20s exported to France in the 1990s for use by Compagnie des Chemin de Fer Departementaux on freight services.
