Andrew Thompson tells the story of the class of 728 machines, some of which have recently seen changes in deployment following the introduction of the new regional EMUs.
Open Doors at Inchicore: Irish Rail held an open day on 7 May to mark the 175th anniversary of Inchicore Works in Dublin, which remains at the heart of railway engineering in Ireland today.
Banovici: Moving Coal over two gauges in Bosnia: On 7 May, Bosnia lignite mining company RMU Banoviciheld its first steam festival since the Covid-19 pandemic. Toma Bacic and Dzevad Hodzic visit the mine's narrow gauge railway, which boasts a varied roster of steam and diesel locomotives.
