This is the tenth book in Jim Blake’s LT Area series looking at London Transport bus operations in the west of Central London since 1976. Areas covered in this volume include Regent Street, Oxford Street, Trafalgar Square and Westminster.
The book is divided into sections, each covering a different theme such as as buses captured adjacent to churches or pubs, curtailments and short workings, special liveries and buses in trouble.
Most of the photos date from between the early 1960s and the late 1980s, with a few more recent shots also included. They are mostly black & white but there are also some more recent colour shots. RTs and Routemasters dominate the collection, reflecting the vehicle types operating during this period, though some more recent bus types are also included.
