An album of high-quality black & white photographs of Southdown buses operating around southern England during the 1950s and 1960s. Most of the photographs come from the collection of Peter Mitchell, with other supplied from Eric Surfleet's collection of photographs held by the Southdown Enthusiasts Club.
The photographs present a picture of Southdown at its peak, both interms of vehicle numbers and service provision. Photographs present a journey across the Southdown region from west to east.
Photographs are each accompanied by extensive captions, providing background information about the vehicles and locations pictured. An introduction to Southdown and its services is also included.
