North Staffordshire-based bus driver and enthusiast Tim Machin has put together this superb album of photos depicting the variety of vehicles and operators from across the area from the early 1970s to the present day.
For many years the main operator in the North Staffordshire conurbation has been PMT (now First Potteries), and a few PMT/First buses are featured along with several smaller still extant or long-gone independent operators such as BC Travel, Knotty Bus, Paul’s of Stoke, Stanways, Wardle Travel and Wint’s Coaches. A good variety of buses, coaches and minibuses are illustrated, ranging from 1960s/70s vintage vehicles such as Bristol Lodekkas, Duple Viceroys and Daimler Fleetlines to Leyland Nationals, Dennis Darts and Optare Solos.
