This book is an updated and combined version of two books published in 2018 and 2020 covering the electric locomotives of the SBB and independent railways in Switzerland. New material has been added and the book has been updated to late 2022.
The book is divided into chapters each devoted to a railway company (with the SBB section being further divided into chapters covering a period of locomotive design), with each chapter containing entries for every type of electric locomotive to have operated for that company over the years. For each locomotive type, a brief history is included, along with a number of photographs and in some cases, a technical diagram.
