This is the first-published volume of a series of detailed books looking at individual lines of Berlin’s U-Bahn in turn. This volume examines line U5, which at time of publication ran from Hönow in the east of Berlin, to Alexanderplatz. Also contains details of the then under-construction extension to Berlin Hauptbahnhof, that was due to open in 2016.
The first part of Berliner U-Bahn Linien: U5 traces the history of the line, looking at its construction and how the line has been operated over the years. The second half of the book examines each station on the line in turn, with brief description and historical details and several colour photographs of each station. Well illustrated with colour and black & white photographs, maps and track diagrams. German text. 110 pages. Published 2010. Original Price £14.95
