This magazine-style publication from Eisenbahn Kurier examines the history of the 'Vogelfluglinie', which links Hamburg and Lubeck with Puttgarten on the island of Fehmarn. From here, onward train-ferries continued to Rodby Havn in Denmark, where trains could continue towards Kobenhavn (Copenhagen).

This international route operated for several decades and was one of the most important links to Scandinavia. In 2019, international train-ferry operations via Puttgarten ceased, but the line still provides an important link from mainland Germany via the Fehmarnsundbrücke.

This publication contains several articles examining the history of the route and how it has been utilised over the years. Each article is well-illustrated with recent colour and archive black & white photographs. German text. 98 pages.
