This book presents historical photographs of railways in the Saarland region of Germany and puts them alongside an image of the same location in more recent years. Text describes and explains many of the differences between the photographs and explains what has happened in the years between the photographs being taken.
Locations around the Saarland region are covered, including a range of urban and rural locations as well as stations, depots and lineside locations.
The changes between some pairs of photographs is vast, whereas other locations remain relatively unchanged, with just the trains pictured changing over the years.
