A film documentary telling the story of the Class 182 electric locomotive, designed and built by Siemens in the early 2000s. The history of the Eurosprinter family began in 1992 with the prototype 127 001. This modern three-phase locomotive is widely considered to be the forerunner of all subsequent Siemens electric locomotives.
Trails with 127 001 gave rise to the Taurus family, first delivered to Austrian national operator ÖBB as Class 1116, and which is available in three different variants. The DB class 182 is identical in design and construction to the ÖBB Class 1116 Taurus; 25 locomotives were delivered to DB Cargo in 2001. Accompany us through the history of the Eurosprinter.
Die Baureihe 182 DVD tells the story of the locomotives, from construction in München to operation in service. It features all the ÖBB variants, the Class 182 and the numerous locomotives in service with private companies. As well as lineside footage the DVD features images from the driver’s cab, and shots of locomotives undergoing maintenance in depots and workshops.
