In this book, author David Voice traces the history of the West Midlands Metro system, as well as taking a brief look at the Coventry and Stourbridge 'Very Light Rail' schemes.
The book begins with a look at the original tramways in Birmingham and Wolverhampton, both of which closed by the 1950s. This is followed by a look at the construction of the West Midlands Metro system, before going on to look at the operation of the system between it's opening in 1999 and the present day.
