The fourth volume of this illustrated review of the railways of north east Lincolnshire during the days of steam. This volume focuses on the excursion trains which regularly visited the area and the transport of fish from the ports of the area.
With the popular tourist resort of Cleethorpes in the area, excursion trains from the cities of Sheffield and Nottingham were a common sight during the post-war period, as well as those from further afield. The railways also served the fishing ports of Grimsby and Immingham and freight trains were used to transport fish to customers around the country.
Each chapter within the book is made up of a series of black & white photographs, each of which is accompanied by an informative caption. Over 340 photographs are included within the book and a number of timetable extracts are also presented. 144 pages.
