An illustrated history of the family of 2-cylinder 4-6-0 locomotives built by the London
& South Western Railway and Southern Railway between 1914 and 1936. Many of these
locomotives survived well into the British Railways era. The first section of the book looks at
the design of the locomotives and at their working lives. The main part of the book contains
colour and black & white photographs of the locomotives at work around the Southern Region.
Each photograph is accompanied by a caption. Also includes full lists of all locomotives built,
including build and withdrawal dates, number and mileage. Hardback. 264 pages.
