Railway photographer Andrew Grant Forsyth travelled widely around the former LNER territory during the late 1940s and throughout the 1950s, visiting sheds and stations across eastern England.
In this book, Brian Dickson has selected a variety of photographs from Andrew Grant Forsyth's collection and written detailed captions for each. Photographs cover a variety of former LNER locomotive types as well as some of the pre-grouping classes still in operation in the post-war period.
Photographs are arranged in roughly chronological order and each is accompanied by a caption proving details about the type of locomotive pictured. An introduction to the photographer is also included. East and North Eastern Steam: Former LNER Territory 1947-1958 provides a pictorial record of the motive power in use on the former LNER region during the mid-twentieth century. 120 pages.
