The 327km high-speed line between Hannover and Wurzburg is the longest high-speed line in Germany, having been built in stages between 1973 and 1991.
Every day, over 100 ICE trains use the line, travelling at speeds of up to 280 km/h. At night, the line is also used by freight trains.
This DVD traces the story of the line, from planning and construction, through to opening and how it is used on a daily basic. Footage includes test trains, cab rides and aerial footage of some of the line's most impressive structures.
